Toronto Community Preschool x UP&UP x Dhiiyaan Art

At Toronto Child Care Centre, I had the privilege of working alongside UP&UP to create a mural that reflects the heart of the centre—its identity, culture, and strong sense of community. With guidance and input from the educators, we shaped the design to represent the children and their learning environment in a meaningful and respectful way.

The mural includes three important animals—Wilia (Possum), Maata (Echidna), and Mowane (Kangaroo)—each representing one of the centre’s rooms. These animals hold deep significance, connecting to Country and symbolising the children’s growth, curiosity, and resilience

This artwork has become more than just a mural, it’s a story woven into the space, honouring culture, community, and the little ones who learn, explore, and grow here every day.
