Shortland Public School - Preschool

Dhiiyaan Art is proud to collaborate with Shortland Public Preschool as the selected artist for a significant cultural project embedded within the preschool’s new build.
As part of this collaboration, Dhiiyaan Art created a bespoke digital artwork designed to be integrated throughout the space, alongside a large-scale mural, concrete stamping elements and additional design features. Together, these elements form a cohesive visual story that is woven into the everyday environment of the preschool.
A key part of this process was a mural mind-mapping workshop with children from the public school, where students were invited to share their ideas, stories and what makes their community special. This was supported by consultation with staff and the broader community, ensuring the final artwork reflects a genuine sense of place and belonging.
This collaboration was a meaningful and wholesome cultural experience for all involved, creating opportunities for connection, learning and shared storytelling. The finished outcome is a space that feels welcoming, inclusive and deeply connected to community.
